On July 26, 2011, the City of Milwaukee Common Council voted to authorize The Milwaukee Streetcar project to advance to the next phase, Final Engineering.  The City expects to bid Final Engineering and have a consultant team in place by the end of 2011.

In the meantime, work will conclude on Preliminary Engineering and Environmental Documentation, including final revisions to the Environmental Assessment in cooperation with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and planning the a Public Hearing and Business Outreach Meetings related to environmental impacts.
